How the
birth of Jesus came about |
|
|
 |
| When
the Israelites continue to disobey the covenant, God sends prophets to
them who bring messages of warning and hope |
|
The
prophet Isaiah predicted the arrival of a savior. This savior, or
Messiah, will establish the new covenant between God and the people

| Angel
Gabriel announces to Mary that her child will be the divine Son of God,
the savior of the world |
 |
| The
savior will be born in Nazareth, the hometown of Mary |
 |
 |
In
those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be
taken of the entire Roman Empire. Everyone went to his own town to
register. So Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem the town of David. While
they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave
birth to her firstborn, a son |
|
  |
| She
wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no
room for them in the inn |
| The
Magi offer gifts to the new Messiah, seeing in him an extraordinary King |
  |
The
baby is presented in the temple and recognized by Simeon and Anna
as Messiah |
|
| |
 |
| Joseph
takes his family and travels to Egypt, to escape the persecution of
Herod. Has Jesus found a welcoming place in your heart or is He still
somewhere out there...? |
