| I.
Jesus Prays in the Garden of Gethsemane |
 |
|
We adore you, o Christ, and we praise you because by your
holy cross you have redeemed the world. |
|
| Scripture |
| Jesus advances a little and fell prostrate
in prayer, saying: "Father, if it is possible let this cup pass from me,yet not as I
will, but as you will." |
|
| Prayer |
| Father in heaven, your Son, Jesus Christ
consciously offered his life for the redemption of the entire world. Strengthen us in our
baptismal resolutions by which we renounced sin, so that through the passion of this
life's sufferings we might rise to a new life of joyful service free of all selfishness.
Amen |
